“Our family was in the midst of a crisis when we found Grace Home Health. We had received only a few days’ notice that the home health group we were using was no longer going to be available to care for my 89 year old mother. We had just recently moved my mother to a local retirement community after 8 months in the hospital so another major change could have been devastating to her physically and emotionally.
We contacted Grace Home Health and they were there the very next day. The staff was so professional and immediately put us our fears to rest. They understood how stressful caring for an aging parent is and what it would take to give us the peace of mind we were looking for. They put together a care plan and immediately begin working with her existing house call physicians and therapy team without disruption. It was as if the weight of the world was lifted from our shoulders. Today my mother enjoys a wonderful relationship with her caregivers from GHH and has progressed to the point of more independence than we had ever dared to hope for. The part they have played in her recovery is undeniable. She is happy and feels secure which was always our primary goal.
Before we found Grace Home Health we went through a period of great stress with two other agencies who simply couldn’t get it right. I am writing to compliment three people on your staff that make a huge difference every day in the life of my mother who resides at The Bentley Independent Living in Dallas, Texas. The nurse and aides are so loving and caring for my mother that I just can’t imagine life without them. My mother no longer has any worries about her medicine schedule or her needing something, but not wanting to call the facility managers’ office for help. Also, when my sister on occasion comes to drive my mother to my sister’s home in Oklahoma, the nurse has a wonderful program of making individual “day & hour” envelopes for each of the six daily medicine intakes and carefully fills each envelope and writes the day of the week and time it’s to be taken. It is so easy to follow and makes the visit for my mom and my sister so much more enjoyable.
